Got my replacement tablet pen in the mail today. It's a little bit nicer than the pen that came with the tablet. Has a better grip, for instance. I haven't had much of a chance to actually use it yet, but it definitely works.

I took my tablet's pen apart to see if I could replace the nib (Answer: no?) and in the process broke a couple of the wires and welp now it doesn't work.
I could probably fix it with some sodder and a blueprint, but I think I'll bite the bullet and just pay the $30 for a new pen.

I drew my third crab EVER just yesterday. Which is odd because I really like crabs, so I would think I would draw them more. Alas, no crab has ever been in any of my pieces.

Really, as far as coolness factor goes, crustaceans and cephalopods beat pretty much everything else ever. Sure, a chameleon can change colors, but can it fit through a tiny hole? Well, sure, but it won't be running around on the other side. And Crustaceans have what might barely edge out the Octopus for coolest creature ever, the Mantis Shrimp. Sees in infrared (and ultraviolet?) and when it attacks its claw creates a tiny vacuum bubble which collapses into a small explosion, which can sometimes kill their prey if the claw doesn't do the job.

On the other hand, has a Mantis Shrimp ever eaten a shark?

I've been doodling these five characters for a while, but while Angus, being more central to the plot than everyone else, has had plenty of pencil-time, the others have been awfully neglected and unfleshed out. I decided to make a full-fledged drawing of each, so that I had at least one clear image of the character when it came time to write them.

I learned a lot doing this, and there are things I would change (like Crik's lack of a background) but overall I'm satisfied with the result. These aren't really representative of the story now, but I finished the series for the sake of the series.

I got an 8x6 inch tablet for $60. Unfortunately, while I'm testing it out now, I'm supposed to be getting it for Christmas, so I have to put it back.
